Recruiter Calls with Your 425K Dream Job. You Ready?

Recently, my client was called by a recruiter for a 425K dream financial leadership job.

That was active recruiting in the middle of August. I told you that summer recruiting was a real thing!

However, now we are in the middle of September and in the midst of “get back to work after summer” season. The recruiter calls are even more voluminous now.

If you received that call today from a recruiter wanting to talk about your dream job, would you be able to send off your resume after the call? Maybe just after a few small tweaks? Would you be able to do that?

My client was able to send his resume to the recruiter within 8 hours of the call when he got home from work that day.

His resume was proactively ready to go after a couple of customizations that were needed from the information shared by the recruiter about the job and the company.

What do you need to do to be ready if your dream job called today?

Here are 4 steps to take now:

(1) Pull our your resume and update it with your current role (and most recent prior roles if it's been a while since you updated your resume.. Ensure you include relevant accomplishments that pertain to the job you want to do next.

(3) When crafting an achievement-focused bullet for your resume to set your resume apart from other candidates, be sure to list the task along side with the challenge or opportunity you faced, the action you took to fix the challenge or capitalize on the opportunity and the result that came from your action. This is the formula on how to write an effective achievement-focused resume bullet.

(4) Correlate the content of your resume with your LinkedIn profile. When your resume and profile communicate two different goals, it can stop a hiring manager in their tracks. Make sure your content within each document is supportive of each other and in sync.
